There are many reasons to read Byung-Chul Han’s The Burnout Society. It is a plea for leisure and contemplation. Heck, it is even a plea for people to write shorter books (it is around 72 pages).

It is also an encomium to “no.” Why does this tiny two-letter word matter today?
